The Nucleus Business Innovation Centre to Benefit from Launchpad Service
28th January 2010
SEEDA and Locate in Kent, in conjunction with key partners in Kent, created Launchpad UK in March 2009.
|
The service provides bespoke packages of professional support designed to reduce the risks and costs for knowledge-driven foreign companies entering the UK market.
The Nucleus Business and Innovation Centre, which is operated by Oxford Innovation, has been designed specifically to encourage start-up and early stage companies. It offers companies not only accommodation but also business advice and networking opportunities as well as links to both universities and funding organisations.
The Launchpad service will offer an additional service, which will help foreign high tech companies set up their business on The Bridge Science Park. As a result of Locate in Kent's collaboration with The Nucleus, businesses will be offered:
- A "virtual office" solution with optional hot-desking.
- A fully serviced office or workstation at a discounted rent for up to six months.
- A 15% discount on meeting room hire at any of Oxford Innovation's other centres for up to six months.
- A free review of the company's ambitions and opportunities and of how Oxford Innovation's expertise and networks can help.
- Advice and support with the development of business plans, raising finance and taking innovations to market in the UK.
- Access to Oxford Innovation's network of Innovation Centres, companies, research and technology organisations, universities and support organisations.
- Access to Oxford Innovation's investment networks.
Dr Alex Smeets, Project and Incubation Director at The Nucleus Business Innovation Centre, commented, “An entrepreneurial culture is at the heart of the Nucleus, and the addition of the Launchpad service offers to businesses looking to locate in Kent the additional support they need to make their business thrive.”
