Work has now started on the first phase of Cyclopark. This includes extensive archaeological survey work of the site’s rich heritage, landscape management and access improvements. Kent County Council's Cyclopark Project Manager, Laurence Tricker, said: “I am delighted Jamie is on board. It is a very exciting opportunity to help develop the Cyclopark project and raise our profile, both locally and nationally. “Jamie is an excellent role model and he will play a key part in promoting the work we do, which in the greater scheme of things is vital to helping regenerate the area. This is great news for us.” Jamie Staff said: “As soon as I heard about this project I was keen to be involved. I’m passionate about getting people active and on their bikes and the Cyclopark is going to give everyone in the area an ideal location to do this. The planned facilities will create a World Class cycling venue in Kent and will have a direct impact on getting more people cycling in the South East." |
