Where is Kent Thameside?

 Kent Thameside sits on the River Thames between Central London and the Medway towns in North Kent. It encompasses Gravesend and Dartford town centres and includes Ebbsfleet Valley.

What does it offer that's different to nearby areas?

As well as nine miles of riverfront and the town centres, it is home to Bluewater and Ebbsfleet International with quick connections to and from Central London and easy access to country parks.

Where can I buy a new house in the Kent Thameside area?

New homes for sale in Kent Thameside are currently available at Waterstone Park, Springhead Park, Christian Fields and Canal Basin. The initial phase of homes at Springhead Park, the first residential development at Ebbsfleet Valley, went on sale in February 2008. Crest Nicholson launched the final phase of housing development at Ingress Park, entitled The Pier, in May 2008.

Is there provision for affordable housing?

What about children’s play areas?

There are numerous play areas throughout Kent Thameside, including those within Central Park in Dartford, Jeskyns Park in Gravesham and many more. How well connected is Kent Thameside in terms of transport?

The area is extremely well-connected. It's close to the M2, M25 and A2 and is home to Ebbsfleet International where trains to London take just 17 minutes. By car, it’s less than half an hour from Maidstone, 45 minutes from Ashford and around an hour from Canterbury, Folkestone and Dover.

How does Ebbsfleet International fit into the local public transport network?

Ebbsfleet International has served Kent Thameside since Eurostar services began in November 2007. Additional public transport facilities have been available since December 2009 when domestic High Speed 1 services began from Ebbsfleet International.

What is Fastrack and why is it different to other buses?

Fastrack is the area’s award winning Bus Rapid Transport system that connects the towns, villages and new developments with mainline train stations and other transport hubs. Each Fastrack vehicle is equipped with seven cameras to help ensure the safety of all passengers. And Fastrack offers a premium service at the same fare as an equivalent local bus. 

What’s the best way to get to the area?

Mainline trains run to Dartford and Gravesend from Central London stations in less than an hour, with high speed services reaching St Pancras International from Ebbsfleet International in only 17 minutes and from Gravesend in 22 minutes. Dartford sits on the M25 and the A2 is a key trunk road.
