Blacklaws Davis LLP is a solicitors practice specialising in family law and mediation. The firm is highly recognised for its work with childcare cases, divorce, financial issues cohabitation and civil partnerships. Blacklaws Davis has rapidly grown from one office in Deptford, south-east London, to offices in Cambridge, Clapham and more recently Dartford, Kent. A strategic goal of the firm is to continue to grow substantially over the next few years, identifying a number of key locations for expansion. It was quickly recognised that a large number of clients travelled to their London office from Kent, the growing level of demand therefore led the firm to search for a key location in this area. Excellent proximity to transport links and the availability of good quality office space made Dartford a logical location for their first office in Kent. The firm were also impressed by the attractive start up costs, flexible terms of accommodation and high-quality, fast broadband links that the local area was able to offer. The Dartford office opened in August 2009 offering both Family Law and Mediation services. The close proximity to an excellent rail service and road access to the M20, A2 and M25 offers both clients and staff improved journey times. The firm envisage that the Dartford office will take on a lot of work from the Deptford offices and provide services in South Essex, helping to confirm their position as one of the country's fastest expanding law firms. "Kent Thameside offered us the right combination of transport links, communications and flexible accommodation which made it stand out. We identified that the area boasted a skilled local workforce upon which we could draw and felt that there was no better option for us." Christina Blacklaws, Senior Partner, Blacklaws Davis. On 24 September 2009, Blacklaws Davis was shortlisted for the prestigious Law Society Legal Excellence Awards. Chris May, Practice Manager, Blacklaws Davis, said: "There is huge competition for these awards, from firms across the country. We are delighted that the awards committee have recognised the strides we have made in developing a new business model which will deliver effective family legal advice to the community." |
