Learning in Kent Thameside
Kent Thameside offers a broad range of local authority primary, secondary and special schools. Full details, including Ofsted reports, are available online from Kent County Council, the local education authority, or from the Independent Schools Council for the independent sector. Both sites offer search by school type and location, and links to individual school websites.

A number of schools have specialist subject status;

Gravesham is the first area in the county to benefit from the Building Schools for the Future programme, which will see every secondary school rebuilt.

North West Kent College is local provider of Further Education. Its campuses in Dartford and Gravesend deliver Higher Education options in partnership with the University of Greenwich. It also operates The Learning Shop, Bluewater.

The College is a Centre of Vocational Excellence for Accounting and Financial Services, and has a strong reputation for Performing Arts.

The College also hosts the Gateway Knowledge Alliance, through which higher education providers combine to address learning and skills needs of the Thames Gateway in Kent.
