Energy supply is an essential service for Kent Thameside communities and identifying sustainable solutions for the future will be key to the area’s growth.
The Government is undertaking a feasibility study to examine the potential for making the Thames Gateway a low carbon development area. Kent Thameside will review these findings to help improve energy efficiency in existing and new communities. Already, Northfleet Embankment is proposed as a "low carbon" flagship scheme.

Kent Thameside will work with Partners to:
- conduct an eco-assessment of the area
- minimise greenhouse gas emissions resulting from new development
- move towards zero-carbon development, adhering to higher levels of the Code for Sustainable Homes.
