The Bridge site is – as its name suggests - next to the QEII Bridge in Dartford. This is a joint venture between Dartford Borough Council and ProLogis Developments Ltd.

An innovative and imaginative mixed-use development, covering 264 acres, including 162,000 sq. m. of industrial, office and science park space, creating 7500 jobs. There will also be 1500 homes built side by side in a parkland setting, linked by a unique new rapid transit system.

Features of the development include:

  • 80 acres of open space with lakes and a nature reserve linked by paths and cycleways
  • Fastrack bus rapid transit system running through the site on a dedicated route providing access to Dartford, Greenhithe, Gravesend and Ebbsfleet International
  • Buses are free for residents and on-site employees and all homes are within five minutes' walk of a stop
  • The Nucleus Innovation Centre for science and technology based businesses – including recruitment and training support, and an incubation centre for new businesses, provided by Employ Kent Thameside
  • Wimpey Homes, some with purpose built workspace, will have high speed broadband and interactive media built in, including real time Fastrack information

“The Bridge will be a unique neighbourhood for Dartford and for the Thames Gateway. The modern style of the new homes and the green open spaces that surround them will appeal to everyone who shares our vision for The Bridge as a pioneering new community”.

Wayne and Gerardine Hemingway, designers, working with Broadway Malyan architects and Wimpey Homes.
