Gravesend benefits from a scenic riverside area and excellent shopping facilities.
Ambitious plans to renew historic Gravesend are now underway and this exciting, vibrant regeneration will transform the town centre.

Fast access. Within an hour's drive of Central London and a few miles from the M25, it is surrounded by attractive country villages. Southeastern's high speed services have reduced travel time to the capital to just 22 minutes.
New Developments. Improvement plans include substantial redevelopment of the Heritage Quarter, with over 650 new apartments at Canal Basin, improved retail opportunities, restaurants, offices, a hotel, and community facilities. The Transport Quarter will offer renovation of the station as well as creating a bus interchange next to it, a two-way road system, new homes and car parks, and a public square by the Civic Centre.
Rich heritage. Gravesend has a successful, multi-cultural town centre and is working hard to integrate new and existing communities to improve quality of life. The town welcomed the opening of the country’s largest facility for Sikh worship, the Guru Nanak Darbar Gurdwara, in 2010.
